  2. your vlogs are great! I'm still not ready to do on of my own - I don't believe anyone would understand me. :D
videos are much better for craft book reviews than written posts. I'm really interested in Knitting Vintage and The Crafter's Guide now. :)

    1. I don't find it easy but I do find it's helpful to push myself out of my comfort zone every now and again, and you could always use text to help illustrate your point?

  4. I love this Annna, you are very entertaining! Also super brave! wow, I would never have the guts to do a vlog. I have put the last book, the photo one, on my Amazon wishlist. I could certainly use some tips, so thank you for the helpful review. x

    1. The photography book's worth every penny. Making a vlog's easier with a dog at my side (even a snoring one), I reckon! x

  5. "Vlog" is a funny word. I still haven't managed to film one yet. It seems like doing a cooking video without help might be a bit complicated...

Anyway, THANK YOU for reviewing the scarf book. I'd seen it online and thought about it but hadn't bought it yet. You've saved me a few dollars. If I see vintage silk scarves that are around $5 or less, I generally buy them and then when it rains, I wear them over my hair, which embarrasses my mother to no end. She's always telling me I look like the Queen Mother. Good enough for me. I usually try to wear wellies as well to complete the look! :-)

I will definitely keep an eye out for The Works locations when I visit England later this year. I can't pass up a bookstore. When Paul and I spent 6 weeks in France in 2006, I came back with nearly 50 pounds (that's weight, not money) of books. Now that there are stricter baggage limits, I'll have to be more careful!

    1. I think I'd completely mess up a cooking video! I struggle to talk and cook at the same time.

I might try the other 'Craft Challenge' books in the series, there's a teatowel and a pillowcase one, if I can find ones to look at first. He he, I'm sure you look fab in your scarves - I team mine with wellies too and it's very practical!

I also have similar problems with collecting books on my travels. When visiting Baltimore in 2010 I had to stop myself buying American versions of all the Harry Potter books. Why I had this urge when they're British, I have no idea!

  7. Lovely vlog! I think I need that photo book too. And I agree with previous comments - vlogs are definitely better than written posts for craft book reviews. That said I don't think I'll ever do a vlog, unless I could find a sensible way of doing it without showing my face! (I suppose thinking about it that I often refer to youtube videos of people demonstrating sewing techniques and only ever see their hands/hear their voice... now there's a thought!)

    1. I'm sure there are many creative ways to vlog for those who prefer not to wholly appear on camera. It's a personal confidence challenge for me to stop being funny about being in front of the camera, but of course, it doesn't affect the purpose of the video. Go for it!
