A Spot of Pyrex Thrifting

I may have mentioned in the past that I'm having a bit of a love affair with Pyrex - or versions of it -  and to be honest, I can't see it ending any time soon. I ambled along to Chesterfield flea market yesterday and it was packed, both with people and vintage and antiques. It was a lovely surprise to meet Debs of Two Bones and a Bagel and I added another Enid Blyton to my collection from her lovely stall!

Pyrex being the unbelievably useful stuff that it is my eye is tuned in to spotting it. I noticed these latest finds on the basis of the colours, and only then did a little squee of joy when I saw that they are good old low-thermal-expansion borosilicate glass!

Roses again! This one is Arcopal and the others are Pyrex.

At £3 for all three with a free chinwag and a dog biscuit for Bea thrown in we both left very pleased!

Have a wonderful Friday,

  2. Cute! I never knew Pyrex could be so pretty. But where do you keep all these treasures you are always buying?? You should do a blog post on household organisation and storage, I must have lots to learn! x

    1. Ah, my finds are mostly stored away (and every now and again taken out and admired) as I'm in the process of saving to move back out of the family home, and have very little to kit out a house from scratch. I even have an inventory list to prevent over cluttering! x

  4. I think I love Pyrex so much because it reminds me of Mum, in the kitchen, cooking! She had lots of Pyrex dishes, she swore by them! Those dishes are lovely! :)

    1. You're right Ada, my mum still uses hers regularly so I reckon it's a good idea to buy Pyrex if it can last another forty years! x

  9. OOOH lovely finds. I picked up a lovely pyrex bowl last time I visited Chesterfield flea market.
Debs from two bones and a bagel is lovely isn't she, I met her at the last Mary's marvellous vintage fair unbeknown to me I had been reading her blog for a while, it is a very small world.
Hope you have had a great weekend, maybe I will see you at the next St. Mary's on the 8th December - be sure to pop by and say hello, hopefully little Adele will be with me

    1. Clearly it's the place to go for Pyrex! Yes Debs was lovely, and so was her stall, and I am indeed hoping to pop in at Mary's on the 8th. Congratulations on getting a stall and see you there! x
